|
| Standalone Deployment Though designed with networks in mind, Siren 2007 works equally well on a single computer. The benefits are ease of maintenance and backups, and the ability to house your alarm system at a single secure point. Drawbacks are that you will not be able to raise alarms from any other computer, nor will you be able to monitor the progress of messages from any other site. Resources Siren 2007 uses few resources when idle but will consume more to meet the demands of an active environment. You should monitor your computers' performance and ensure that there are adequate resources available. Resources to monitor include CPU and RAM availability, HDD capacity and temperature. Best Practice Siren 2007 does not consume a lot of resources and can coexist with other programs - but doing so introduces risks. For instance, a problem in another program could freeze Windows and consequently disable your evacuation system. We recommend that you allocate a computer to be used for Siren 2007 and do not use that computer for any other purpose. |
